Supporting & Giving Back to our Community
Welcome to DIG VBC – One of North Texas' Largest and Most Dynamic Volleyball Clubs.
Thanksgiving Week at DIG: Serve the Turkey & Pass the Pumpkin Pie
As we head into Thanksgiving break, we’re serving up a fun, purposeful week at the gym! This will be our first DIGives event of the club season. Stay tuned for future events. This is open for all Academy Jrs., Academy and Club teams!
Week starting Sunday, November 16th - Thursday, November 20th — “Serve the Turkey & Pass the Pumpkin Pie”
Our theme this week centers around serving and serve receive as we prepare for the first tournaments of the season. We’ll blend competition, gratitude, and giving back—DIG style!
Canned Food Drive
We’re collecting canned goods all week to support the North Texas Food Bank.
-
We will weigh each team total cans brought in.
-
Top 3 teams with the highest total weight will win a prize!
-
Collection boxes will be outside the gym—let’s see which team can serve up the most generosity. Each team will have its own box. You can drop off canned items for your team as late as Thursday 11/20 night. We will be weighing team boxes Friday morning. The winning teams will receive their prize at their next practice.
-
We have group a goal of 500 lbs. of collected non-expired food items (so make sure to bring in cans to help us reach our goal). If we hit our goal, DIG will add another 500 lbs. to the total and will deliver 1000 lbs. of food items to the North Texas Food Bank before Thanksgiving.
Team Spirit Practices
At each team’s last practice of the week before Thanksgiving break (it will be noted on your team calendar), players are encouraged to wear their favorite football team jersey or shirt (college or pro) instead of their regular practice gear.
Let’s see which fans show up the loudest—Cowboys, Longhorns, Aggies, Sooners, Red Raiders, Bears, Mustangs, Horned Frogs or maybe even a few Eagles!
Theme Focus: Serve the Turkey, Pass the Pumpkin Pie
We’ll spend part of our week’s training to sharpening serving accuracy and serve-receive consistency. Expect competitive serving games, pressure drills, and a few surprises to keep things festive and focused.
We’re thankful for our incredible athletes, coaches, and families who make DIG such a strong community. Let’s finish November with great energy on the court and even greater hearts off of it.
We hope everyone has a very Happy Thanksgiving Holiday!
See you in the gym,
The DIG Volleyball Club Staff
