DIG Tryouts 

Sun. July 14th

11:30am-1:00pm (14s & 15s)

1:00-2:30pm (13s & 16s-18s)

4:00-5:30pm (10s-12s)

Tryout Fee: $35*

*Only players WITHOUT a current DIG club team offer need to register and pay for Tryouts

DIG will be holding Meet the Coaches Clinics starting in May to form Club and Select teams for the upcoming season. Athletes interested in joining a DIG girls team for the upcoming 2024-2025 club season should attend Meet the Coaches Clinics in May, Pre-Tryout Clinics in June, and/or summer camps. Players should attend as many clinics as desired. This allows the coaches to interact with the players more and get to know them better. Additionally, this will give the players more opportunities to connect with the coaches and experience their various coaching styles. At these clinics, players will receive feedback and may receive a verbal offer to join a team for the upcoming season. Tryouts will occur in July to determine remaining team spots. Players that accept their verbal team offers are also expected to attend Tryouts.

Clinics are non-refundable.

How to Prepare for Tryouts!

  • If you are new to the club, follow the DIG VBC social media to stay informed on upcoming events (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, etc.)

  • Get to know our exceptional coaching team by attending Meet the Coaches clinics and camps!

  • Ask coaches for feedback on areas for improvement!

  • Determine which team is the best fit for your athlete by getting to know the coaches, understanding the team commitment, cost and schedule.

Types of teams we offer

Club - Geared toward athletes that range from those desiring to play through high school to the fully committed, competitive athlete that has aspirations of competing in college. The number of tournaments and locations will vary according to team level. Top teams will travel to two out of town tournaments while others teams may only travel to one out of town tournament in additional to their tournaments in the greater DFW area. Select - A club-style program the focuses on balancing the athlete's desire to be involved in additional sports/activities while participating at a competitive level with a tournament schedule that is local. The practice and tournament schedule is a modified version of club to provide players with more flexibility to accommodate other activities while being fully committed to their teams. (click here for more info)

Elite - A modified club-style program the focuses on balancing the athlete's desire to grow in individual skill development and be involved in multiple sports/activities. The practice and game/tournament schedule is a modified version of club to provide players with more flexibility to accommodate other activities while being fully committed to their teams. (click here for more info)

Academy - A club prep style program the focuses on individual skill development of the athlete while introducing them to competitive volleyball in the North Texas Region. Players in Academy often play multiple sports. The practice and game/tournament schedule is a modified version of club to provide players with more flexibility to accommodate other activities while being fully committed to their teams. (click here for more info)

USAV Age Definitions (For 2024-2025 Season)

18 and Under: Players who were born on or after July 1st, 2006 or are high school students in the 12th grade or below during the current academic year and are 19 years of age or younger (born on or after July 1, 2005).
17 and Under: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2007
16 and Under: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2008
15 and Under: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2009
14 and Under: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2010
13 and Under: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2011
12 and Under: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2012
11 and Under: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2013
10 and Under: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2014
  9 and Under: Players who were born on or after July 1, 2015

*If asked to attend a second day of tryouts, player will not be charged for the second tryout.

The Evaluation Window for the upcoming USA Volleyball season shall start on the first Saturday after the last day of the competition for all age groups at USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championships. For all USA Volleyball age groups, the acceptance date shall be no sooner than the third Sunday of July.

Can't make one of the Tryouts?

  • Attend as many camps, clinics, and private lessons in June to experience who we are at DIG and for us to get to know you.

  • Communicate with the coach of your age group that you will be missing tryouts

    • Understand we are not allowed to discuss a specific team if you currently belong to another club.

  • Follow up with emails to both info@digvbc.com and the coach before and during the week of tryouts.
