Coach Yolanda's Bio

There are very few coaches in the DFW area with as much playing and coaching experience as Yolanda. Yolanda grew up in Mexico and played both college and professional volleyball in Mexico.  Additionally, when she moved to the US, she played professional beach volleyball from 2000-2010 as well as USAV indoor tournaments and adult nationals in open division. Coach Yolanda also has an impressive coaching resume, starting her coaching career at KVA volleyball club in 2011, then coaching at Texas Image for both indoor and beach volleyball.

Coach Yolanda believes her strength lies in making athletes believe in themselves and not being afraid to make mistakes.

Favorite core value at DIG

Yolanda’s favorite core value is RESPECT. “It’s incredibly important that you respect yourself, your coaches, your teammates and your opponents in the game of volleyball,” says Yolanda. You respect yourself by always working your hardest and not cutting corners in competition or in practice. You respect your coaches and teammates by listening and valuing their opinions and advice. You respect your opponent by never giving up and showing good sportsmanship on and off the court. When you do these things, you’ll find success.

Personal

In her spare time, Coach Yolanda spends a lot of time watching her 14-year-old granddaughter play volleyball and spending time with her family.
