Coach Megan's Bio

Coach Megan was a standout high school athlete at Mesquite High School, lettering all four years on the varsity volleyball team, earning the District 12-5A MVP honor her senior year as well as 1st team all-district and second team all-area as an outside hitter.

Megan went on to play college volleyball at Northwestern State University. She still holds the record for the second most digs in a season with 444 and was the fifth person in school history to reach the 1,000 career dig milestone.

Megan has 10 years of volleyball coaching experience and has worked at Dallas Juniors VBC, Texas Assault, and has been with DIG since 2019. Her teams have had tremendous growth and success over the years through teaching her athletes to set goals for themselves and for the team.

Favorite core value at DIG

Megan’s favorite core value is EFFORT. She knows first hand how important effort is to being a successful volleyball player and has enjoyed sharing her passion with her players. Megan says, “I look for athletes that give it their best at all times and show a positive attitude.”

Coach Ben's Bio

Coach Ben is a tremendous asset to the DIG family.  As both a talented player and coach, Ben is able to break down technique and the basics of volleyball in a manageable way that allows his young athletes to thrive for years to come.

Coach Ben started his coaching career with Sportsplex, followed by NRG volleyball club and Extreme volleyball club. Ben started with DIG in 2020 and would not want to coach anywhere else.  “I’m really excited to coach the 12 Blue team because I know the fundamentals that I will help create this season will last them a lifetime,” said Ben.

Favorite core value at DIG

Ben’s favorite core value is DESIRE. He believes an athlete’s attitude and desire to improve in volleyball is the most important element. That includes your attitude towards improvement and your attitude towards your teammates and coaches.  Ben says, “If you want to get better and focus on that desire every time you step foot on the court, you cannot lose, no matter what the score says.”

Ben says he is working out or working on his golf game when he is not coaching. He is also a photographer and videographer, and loves to spend time exploring those areas. He still plays sand or indoor volleyball tournaments and plays in other volleyball leagues when he can.

Coach Maci's Bio

DIG would like to give a big welcome to Coach Maci. Maci will be assisting both the 12 Blue team and 12 Black team. Maci may be as small as the kids she coaches, but don’t be fooled by her size. She brings a wealth of knowledge of the game of volleyball as a player in both high school, junior college and Division 1 college athletics.

As a stand out high school libero, she was the captain of her high school team for 3 years and earned all district honors each year and all state honors her senior year. Additionally, she received all-conference honors at Tyler Junior College during her time there. This will be Maci’s second year coaching club. While she assists the 12’s she’ll also be enrolled in graduate school to become a chiropractic sports therapist.

Favorite core value at DIG

Coach Maci’s favorite core value is EFFORT. Maci says, “I think an athlete that always gives their best effort will be rewarded in the end. Sometimes effort is better than talent.” Maci loves goal setting with athletes to help them accomplish their goals as both a team and an individual. She is a positive light on the court and is a shining example of encouragement and positivity with athletes.

Coach Maci loves doing activities and spending time with her mom, grandma and aunt. They have always been her best supporters in everything she has done. In her spare time, you can find her playing volleyball competitively in grass or sand volleyball tournaments as well as hanging out with family and friends.
