Coach Caitlin's Bio

DIG is extremely excited to welcome Coach Caitlin to the DIG Family! Coach Caitlin grew up in Iowa and has an incredibly decorated playing career in both high school and college as an athlete. In high school, her team, under her leadership as captain, won back to back state championships. She was selected to the All-Tournament team, as well as First Team All-Conference, All-Metro First Team, and All-Eastern Iowa First Team for three years in a row.  Additionally, she was nationally recognized as one of the top 50 players under the prestigious Gatorade Player of the Year award.

Caitlin went on to play for the University of Nevada at Las Vegas and then transferred to Ole Miss where they finished as NVIC Champions.

After college, Caitlin decided to take her passion for the game of volleyball and transfer her knowledge to other young athletes as a coach. Caitlin has 5 years of coaching experience in club volleyball and is the head volleyball coach at Ursuline Academy.

Her contagious smile and high expectations  will undoubtedly bring success to every athlete she coaches at DIG. Coach Caitlin believes that bringing an intention into practice- both personal and team intentions- as well as a high level of energy will differentiate her teams from the competition.

Favorite core value at DIG

Coach Caitlin believes that without desire there is no heart. When you play without heart, the question becomes why are you playing?  Knowing and believing in the WHY of the sport you are playing will bring desire and passion, which leads to success. Coach Caitlin has a strong desire herself to make her athletes perform at their best and is very excited to share that desire with her team this season.

Personal

Caitlin is close with her family even though they are spread out across the states. Her father is a Principal in Illinois, her mother is a Social Worker in Florida, and she has a brother who teaches and coaches in Colorado. Her family all believes in servant leadership and Caitlin is no exception.

She is a personal trainer and enjoys exercise in many different forms, especially yoga, sand volleyball, and weight lifting. She likes traveling, finding new food places, and outdoor adventures with her dog!

However, they are also crucial when it comes to success in a life beyond athletics, and we have a responsibility to prepare our athletes for that life beyond sports on top of preparing them for whatever match we play next.”

Coach Jasmine's Bio

Coach Jasmine is entering her second season on the DIG coaching staff.  Her enthusiasm for the game that she brings on the court, as well as her volleyball knowledge as both a player and coach, makes her a tremendous asset to our program. Coach Jasmine is also the current head volleyball coach at Ursuline Academy.  Coach Jasmine will graduate this summer from the University of North Texas, with a degree in Exercise Science. Prior to UNT, she attended both Oklahoma Panhandle State University and Brookhaven College, where she played volleyball. After OPSU, she took a detour and enrolled in the army to serve our country for three years.

Coach Jasmine started her coaching career in 2015, coaching at Lonestar Volleyball Club. She has worked with ages 6-16 through club teams, private lessons, positional training and rec leagues. Her last club, prior to DIG, was the  Frisco Flyers where she coached 16’s and helped run several camps and clinics.

Favorite core value at DIG

Coach Jasmine’s favorite core value at DIG is EFFORT.  “Effort is one thing that athletes have complete control over. I believe that effort teaches athletes that they can do more than they think they can, resulting in them learning new skills and abilities they probably doubted with consistent effort,” says Jasmine. Jasmine’s favorite part of coaching is watching the confidence of her athletes grow.

Personal

Jasmine is very close to her family and has always loved playing and watching sports.  Her older brother played basketball and football and her mom played volleyball in Berlin, and has been a national USAV referee for volleyball ever since she was young.
