You will know Katie Clouston from camps, clinics and private lessons from her exuberant energy and contagious positively! Katie is the most recent asst. director of DIG, joining the DIG family in March 2021 full-time, but has been a familiar face at Sportsplex for many years. Katie started coaching with DIG at the academy level in 2017 and has since moved up to coaching the club level teams. Katie, a Chicago native, started playing club volleyball herself in 6th grade and played all the way through high school, so she is extremely familiar with what it takes to win and play competitive volleyball.
Katie instills confidence in her athletes through encouraging them constantly to strive for their best and constantly reviewing personal and team goals. As a daughter of a parent in education for 35 years, she learned lessons about teaching and mentoring from her mom.
Favorite core value at DIG
Katie’s favorite core value is DESIRE. “Desire is what fuels an athlete to put their wants into action. Desire goes hand in hand with competitiveness and the ability, regardless of the circumstance you face, to never quit. Desire keeps an athlete hungry and motivates an athlete to continue down the path for success. I find desire to be more pertinent and directly correlated to success than talent. Athletes that have the innate desire to improve are long-term goal oriented and are natural competitors. Desire helps athletes hold themselves accountable for their actions and effort put forth in training sessions, tournaments, practice, etc. At the end of the day, I want to be around athletes with the desire to progress and the desire to win.”
Personal
Katie graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in public relations and Spanish and loves her Sooners! In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, baking, crafting and spending time with family.

Kareé Vaughn
(972) 822-8490
Coach Kareé's Bio
Coach Karee is entering her first season with DIG Volleyball Club and we could not be more excited to have her on staff! Karee played 4 years at Allen High School, 4 years at West Virginia State University and has a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a focus in juvenile deviance. During her time as a player, she was an outstanding outside hitter and was captain of her team all four years.
Karee started her coaching career in 2015 at two different clubs while in college- Kanawha County Volleyball Club and West Virginia Swarm Volleyball Club. In 2017, she moved to Texas and started coaching at Texas Assault and has coached the top teams in ages 15-18s. She also served as the Communications Director and Recruiting Coordinator at Texas Assault during that time. For the 2022-2023 season, she also accepted the position as assistant coach at Brookhaven College.
Coach Karee loves to inspire her athletes by creating a space where they can learn not only volleyball, but life skills. Her dynamic energy and personality will be a huge asset to athletes at DIG!
Favorite core value at DIG
Her favorite core value is DESIRE. Karee says, “When you have desire, there are no limits. I believe that DESIRE is the DRIVE that makes you go after what you WANT. In my opinion, DESIRE will beat talent any day. I love seeing an athlete that WANTS to succeed and has a true drive to be great and expects nothing less every time they step foot on the court, versus the athlete that relies solely on their talent. Nothing is given to us, especially in athletics. I love seeing an athlete put in the work to get what they DESIRE. Having DESIRE helps you set goals which can develop into competitiveness. I want to be around athletes that desire to reach their goals, desire to get better every day, and desire to win.”
She gets her athletes FIRED UP by sharing her passion with them through high energy and intensity.
Personal
Coach Karee is very excited to be getting married in April 2023. Outside of volleyball, she loves playing volleyball, shopping, reading and has a passion for working with and mentoring youth. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends and traveling.
